Understanding Fragrance
A Fragrance is composed of Top, Middle, and Base Notes. Together they create the overall fragrance impression, known as an Accord. Each note occurs at different rates. The Top Notes bloom first, but also dissipate fastest. The Middle Notes, also known as the heart, are mellow and well-rounded. The Base Notes linger longest, creating a lasting impression, and bring depth to the fragrance.

Membership in IFRA North America is limited to companies with a commitment to ensuring the safety of fragrance materials through a dedicated science program. Association members also abide by a Code of Practice set by the industry’s governing association, International Fragrance Association (Brussels). This Code of Practice ensures that the highest fragrance industry principles are met, including the establishment of safe use standards for fragrance materials. ScentAir is the only commercial scent provider that is a member of IFRANA.
